Octenisept with sprayer 250 ml

Octenisept is a medicinal product with bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties for use as a disinfectant of the skin (including after procedures), mucous membranes and the oral cavity, as well as in the treatment of supporting inflammations within the reproductive organs.

Composition
The active substances are: octenidine dihydrochloride (Octenidinum dihydrochloridum), phenoxyethanol (Phenoxyethanolum).

100 g of liquid contains 0.1 g of octenidine dihydrochloride and 2 g of phenoxyethanol.

Excipients: cocamidopropyl betaine - 30% or 38% solution (amidopropyl coconut acid dimethylammonium acetate, sodium chloride, water), sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The drug is recommended to be used undiluted.
A drug for use on the skin.
It is recommended to apply the drug at least once a day to the treated area by spraying, rubbing with a sterile gauze pad or using przymoczka.
Disinfection of the skin and mucous membranes: the parts of the skin and mucous membranes to be treated must be thoroughly moistened with a sterile gauze pad soaked in the medicinal product or moistened by spraying the drug directly on the accessible parts of the skin and mucous membranes. Observe the required exposure time - minimum 1 minute, it is advisable to extend the time to 5 minutes. Pay attention to even wetting of the entire surface. Leave for at least 1 minute. Supportive in the treatment of skin mycosis, spray the medicinal product between the toes on the affected surfaces in the morning and evening for 14 days.

Antiseptic of superficial wounds: the wound should be sprayed or wiped with a sterile gauze soaked in the drug. The drug should always be used at each dressing change. In wounds with exudate, use the drug in the form of diuresis, ensuring contact with the wound and its hydration for a minimum of 1 minute, it is advisable to extend the time to 5 minutes.

Care of postoperative sutures: the wound should be sprayed or wiped with a sterile gauze soaked in the drug. The drug should always be used at each dressing change. The drug has a disinfecting and anesthetic effect. Decontamination of the wound area should be carried out using sterile swabs soaked in undiluted octenisept, radiating from the center to the outside of the wound. Antiseptics of the vaginal mucosa The drug should be moistened on the surface of the vaginal mucosa, ensuring contact of the drug with the mucosa for at least 1 minute. In numerous clinical trials, it has been shown that the drug has an effective bactericidal effect on various bacteria, including Gram positive and Gram negative.

Antiseptic treatment of the glans penis of a man: the drug should be moistened on the surface of the mucous membrane of the glans penis, ensuring contact of the drug with the mucosa for a minimum of 1 minute. Oral cavity disinfection The mouth should be rinsed intensively with 20 ml of the drug for 20 seconds.

Umbilical stump care: Use a medicated gauze pad to care for the umbilical stump. After 1 minute, dry the stump and the skin around it. Keep your baby's umbilical stump clean and dry.

Action
Octenisept contains active substances that have antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. This drug has a destructive effect on bacteria, fungi, yeasts, protozoa (Trichomonas), viruses (Herpes simplex, inactivates HBV and HIV).

Octenidine works on the surface of the skin and wounds, while phenoxyethanol completes the range of octenidine, acting in the deeper layers of the skin and mucous membranes.

Indications
supportive treatment and decontamination of small superficial wounds,
skin disinfection before surgical procedures,
supportive in antiseptic treatment within the surface of closed skin layers after treatments - e.g. postoperative sutures,
repeated and short-term antiseptic treatment within the mucous membranes and adjacent tissues before and after diagnostic procedures within the genitals and anus, including the vagina, vulva and glans penis, as well as before bladder catheterization,
for the care of the umbilical cord stump,
oral cavity disinfection (e.g. canker sores, irritation caused by wearing braces or dental prostheses),
supportive antiseptic treatment of interdigital mycosis,
inflammation of the vagina, as well as within the glans penis of a man.
Contraindications
When not to use Octenisept

in case of hypersensitivity (allergy) to the active substances - octenidine dihydrochloride, phenoxyethanol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
do not use for abdominal rinsing.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
